Our Story
TalocoTours began with one guide, a passion for Costa Rica, and a simple idea: create meaningful experiences in nature.
Founder and naturalist guide Ely López has more than a decade of experience working in tourism, hotels, lodges, and national parks throughout Costa Rica. His journey into naturalist guiding began in the South Pacific, where he discovered how fascinated travelers were by the wildlife and landscapes that had always surrounded him.
Over time, independent tours grew through recommendations, friendships, and shared experiences. As more travelers discovered the incredible biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula, experienced naturalist guides joined the team, and TalocoTours grew into the small, locally focused company it is today.
We have remained true to the values that inspired us from the beginning: small groups, local knowledge, professional guiding, responsible wildlife observation, and genuine personal connections.
