The experience begins at approximately 6:00 pm at a beautiful rainforest property near Puerto Jiménez. As darkness settles in and nocturnal wildlife becomes active, we’ll follow the trails and discover a completely different side of the jungle.

Moving slowly with flashlights, we’ll search the vegetation, forest floor and surrounding trees for creatures that emerge at night. Possible sightings include red-eyed tree frogs, bullfrogs, glass frogs, lizards, snakes, spiders, owls, bats and many other fascinating species. Along the way, your naturalist guide will explain their behavior, adaptations and important roles in the rainforest ecosystem.

The walk covers approximately 1.5 km and usually lasts two to two and a half hours. The trail is generally easy, though muddy areas, exposed roots and a few small stream crossings may occur, particularly during the rainy season.

Optional transportation: Guests can arrive directly at the property using their own transportation. For those staying in or around Puerto Jiménez who do not have transportation, round-trip transportation can be arranged, with pickup at approximately 5:30 pm. The drive to the starting point takes around 15 minutes.
